Job Description

The Data Steward – Contact Data is responsible for ensuring that prospect, customer, and contact data remains trusted, accurate, governed, and business-ready across the enterprise. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, customer-facing teams, and data platform teams to define data standards, monitor data quality, document business definitions, and establish governance processes that support sales, service, marketing, customer experience, analytics, digital self-service, identity management, and AI initiatives.
The Data Steward will drive stewardship activities across CRM, ERP, CIAM, MDM, customer data platforms, and other enterprise systems while supporting data cataloging, data lineage, master data management, contact identity resolution, hierarchy management, and data quality programs. The role plays a critical part in enabling standardized, governed, scalable, and privacy-conscious prospect, customer, and contact data assets.

Key Responsibilities include:
Own and govern enterprise customer, prospect, and contact data domains to ensure data quality, consistency, and business value. 
Establish and promote data governance frameworks, standards, and stewardship practices across the organization. 
Partner with business and technology leaders to drive customer data strategy, master data management, and data modernization initiatives. 
Lead efforts to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability in support of operational, analytical, digital, and AI-driven business needs. 
Serve as a trusted advisor and cross-functional liaison, aligning stakeholders around data-related priorities, risks, and opportunities. 
Support enterprise transformation initiatives by ensuring customer data is effectively managed, integrated, and governed across systems and business processes.

Skills/Qualifications

Required:

H.S. Diploma/GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
3 years of experience in data governance, master data management, business process analysis, customer data management, CRM, marketing operations, sales operations, service operations, or related fields.
Experience collaborating with business and technical teams.
Experience documenting business processes, data standards, and governance requirements.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time


Preferred:
Experience working with prospect, customer, contact, account, or identity data.
Experience in CRM platforms and customer/account data models
Experience in MDM platforms, match/merge rules, survivorship, and hierarchy management
Understanding of CIAM, customer identity, consent, and preference management concepts
Data quality tools and data profiling capabilities
Sales, service, marketing, digital self-service, and customer experience business processes
Experience in Data catalog, metadata, and lineage management
