Job Description
The Legal Intern supports Cintas in-house lawyers and business partners on matters across Commercial, Compliance and Regulatory, and Public Law, gaining practical legal knowledge and skills, conducting legal research, assisting in the preparation of legal documents and advice, and actively seeking learning opportunities to develop as a legal professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to solution design and independently configure and optimize application functionality to meet business needs.
- Assist lawyers and partners across Commercial, Compliance and Regulatory, and Public Law practice areas with the preparation and execution of tasks on assigned matters, including drafting correspondence, contracts, other legal documents, and internal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research using relevant databases and resources and summarize findings for supervising lawyers. Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and legal procedures. Attend training sessions, team meetings, and other educational opportunities to develop knowledge in relevant legal areas.
- Perform legal administrative duties as needed, including organizing and maintaining contract and other matter files, preparing legal filings, taking notes during meetings, and assisting with document management and review.
- Assist with tasks across different practice area teams as needed, including supporting commercial transactions, regulatory compliance reviews, and public law matters, as directed by supervising lawyers.
- Develop and apply an understanding of relevant legal standards, regulatory frameworks, professional conduct rules, and corporate policies in all assigned work.
Skills/Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree program.
Preferred
- Academic or practical exposure to Commercial, Compliance and Regulatory, or Public Law.
- Prior work experience or exposure to a legal setting (e.g., law school clinic, moot court, mock trial, pro bono work, or previous internship) is considered an asset but is not essential.
