Job Title:           International Productivity Engineer II

 

Job Location:     6800 Cintas Blvd., Mason, Ohio 45040 and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. (see also end of Job Duties section)

 

Job Duties:

 

Spend up to 80% of time traveling to company production facilities through US and Central America (where both in US and abroad large majority of employees' native language is Spanish and who cannot communicate effectively in English). Analyze and improve rental laundry and apparel manufacturing production methods using principles of motion economy. Document standards and methods for each operation using: videotape analyses, pre-rate follow up time studies, GSD, time studies, standard data, and standard operating procedures. Analyze material handling techniques/equipment for productivity improvements. Improve production flow and accommodate periodic changes in production through plant layout analysis and document layouts using AutoCAD software. Implement production counting devices and records and maintain up to date incentive payroll computer programs for each rental production operation. Develop incentive payroll spreadsheets and cost reports and train supervisors and plant managers on their use. Using above average presentation skills to persuade location management and production partners to adopt productivity projects. Conduct intensive time study follow ups and pacing exercises with production partners to prove and sell production standards. Prepare capital expenditure authorization and manage project costs to stay within CEA limits. Assist with implementation of statistically-based quality assurance projects. Assist with safety improvement projects. Domestic and international travel to various unanticipated locations throughout US and abroad up to 80%.  Telecommuting/home office based employment available as long as proximate to major air transportation hub.

 

Skills/Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering (foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing work pants, work shirts, and covering garments
  • Must have GSD Certification
  • Must have Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of practical application of GSD standards and knowledge of the apparel construction industry
  • Must be fluent in written and oral Spanish and English
  • Must have valid driver’s license
